Parent Observation Policy

Parents are welcome to observe in their student's classroom. It is always best to call the school and set up an appointment to visit as we have a full assessment schedule, however, parents are able to drop in for an observation without prior notice.  When you come in for an observation, we ask that you observe the class silently so that the instruction of students can occur uninterrupted. If you need to speak with a teacher, we ask that you set up an appointment with them for before or after school.  Please do not bring younger children into the classroom that you are observing as they are a distraction to the learning environment. Please do not approach students who do not belong to you about issues your student may have with them. The appropriate course of action would be to bring the problem to the attention of the teacher or office staff.  Parents who become disruptive in the classroom will be asked to leave, and may be cited for disturbing the peace if the disruption is severe or causes the teacher or students to feel threatened.

National Library Week 4/8-4/14

History: In kinder 1.jpgthe mid-1950s, research showed that Americans were spending less on books and more on radios, televisions and musical instruments. Concerned that Americans were reading less, the ALA and the American Book Publishers formed a nonprofit citizens organization called the National Book Committee in 1954. The committee's goals were ambitious.   They ranged from "encouraging people to read in their increasing leisure time" to "improving incomes and health" and "developing strong and happy family life."

Welcome to Eagle Ranch

Students Best Positioned To Improve School Climate

The complex set of factors that influence school climate can be arranged into five groups or determinants:

PBIS

 pbis-img.jpg

“What is School-Wide PBIS?”

Improving student academic and behavior outcomes is about ensuring all students have access to the most effective and accurately implemented instructional and behavioral practices and interventions possible. SWPBS provides an operational framework for achieving these outcomes. More importantly, SWPBS is NOT a curriculum, intervention, or practice, but IS a decision making framework that guides selection, integration, and implementation of the best evidence-based academic and behavioral practices for improving important academic and behavior outcomes for all students.

(ASES) After School Safety & Education Program

After School Makes a Difference!
* After school programs provide an equivalent of 90 additional days of school, helping students to strengthen social and academic skill sets to become more confident learners during the school day.
* After school programs help significantly increase language acquisition rates for English learners through smaller class sizes, individual and collaborative learning opportunities, and greater peer-to-peer interaction.
* After school programs enable single and married parents who are employed full-time to be productive at work, financially stable and self-sufficient. (Santa Clara County Office of Education, 2009)
